Russborough House East and West Gateways

The East and West gateways, situated on either side of the Main House Façade, serve as entry points to the Stable Yard and the Kitchen, respectively. These Baroque Gateways are remarkable examples of Irish architecture, featuring giant rusticated arches beneath symmetrical pediments in granite ashlar. Each gateway is crowned with a cupola housing a bell, which adds to their uniqueness. Our restoration work involved consolidating the roof timbers and re-slating the roofs. We also reconstructed the timber cupolas using existing details
