The project involved the renovation and expansion of an 1870 historic house in Dublin 6. The existing extensions to the side and rear of the house were not in line with the original character of the building, so we designed new extension that was sympathetic to the existing terrace. We matched and recreated elements such as brackets and stepped string courses, ensuring that the new extension seamlessly blends with the historic character of the original structure.
To ensure that the renovated house is not only visually appealing but also sustainable, various eco-friendly features were incorporated. Rainwater harvesting systems, solar water heating, and a geothermal heat pump were implemented to minimize the environmental impact of the residence.
